File Guide
We accept all file types: AI, PDF, SVG, EPS, PNG, JPG and more. Every file gets a free review before printing, and we'll tell you if it needs any work. This page explains what makes a file print sharp.

Vector
Made of shapes and lines (math), not dots.
Files: AI, PDF, SVG, EPS
✔ Stays sharp at any size, from a pocket logo to a banner.
Raster
Made of tiny squares called pixels, like a photo.
Files: PNG, JPG, GIF, PSD
✘ Gets blocky or blurry when stretched bigger than it was made.
Simple rule: logos and text: vector is best. Photos: raster is fine, as long as it's big enough (see below).
2. Resolution and DPI
DPI means dots per inch: how many pixels fit in each inch at the size it's printed.
- 300 DPI at actual print size: ideal, crisp.
- 150 DPI: okay for some designs, slightly soft up close.
- 72 DPI (most web and social images): looks blurry when printed.
Pixels you need at 300 DPI
| Print width | Pixels wide needed |
|---|---|
| 4 in (left chest) | 1,200 px |
| 10 in | 3,000 px |
| 12 in (full front) | 3,600 px |
| 22 in (gang sheet width) | 6,600 px |
Math: inches × 300 = pixels.
Heads up: changing "72" to "300" in software does not add detail. A small image stays small. Start from the largest original file you have.
3. Transparent backgrounds (for DTF)
DTF prints exactly what's in your file, including any white or colored box behind your design. Save as a PNG with a transparent background so only your design prints. JPGs can't be transparent.
4. Colors in one minute
RGB is for screens; CMYK is for print. Either is fine to send. Very bright neon screen colors may print a little softer. We'll flag anything during your free review.
Quick checklist before you upload
- ☐ Vector file (AI, PDF, SVG, EPS) if you have one
- ☐ Otherwise, 300 DPI at the size you want printed
- ☐ Transparent background (PNG) for DTF
- ☐ Text converted to outlines, or fonts included
- ☐ Not a screenshot or an image saved from social media
- ☐ Not sure? Upload anyway. We review every file for free.
